CHESHIRE, Mass. – Ella Bissaillon went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs batted in Friday to lead the Hoosac Valley softball team to a 13-1, six-inning win over Holyoke in the Hurricanes’ regular season finale.

Holyoke jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Hurricanes responded right away when Gracelyn Wright hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning.

In the second, Hoosac Valley took control with four runs – three coming home on a triple by Wright.

She finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Izabela Tart was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Wright went the distance in the circle, striking out 10, walking three and allowing just two hits.

Hoosac Valley (8-12) will learn its fate in the Division 5 state tournament on Wednesday. The most recent MIAA power rankings had the Hurricanes ranked 29th in the division; the top 32 teams plus .500 teams ranked 33 and higher make the tournament.
