Wahconah, Mount Everett Seeded Third in Softball Tourneys

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- The Western Massachusetts Softball Tournament seedings were released Monday evening at Northampton High School.
 
Seven Berkshire County teams qualified for post-season play; which will begin Wednesday, June 3.
 
Division 1 Pittsfield, finishing with a record of 16-2, earned the No. 5 seed and will travel to No. 4 West Springfield Thursday for a 3 p.m. start.
 
Wahconah earned the No. 3 seed in Division 2, finishing with a record of 16-3; it will host No. 6 South Hadley on Thursday. No. 9 Monument Mountain will travel to No. 8 Easthampton on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. start; the winner will face No. 1 Hampshire.
 
In Division 3, Mount Everett, finishing with a record of 15-4, earned the No. 3 seed and will play No. 14 Smith Voc. Thursday at 4 p.m. Hoosac Valley (12-6) earned the No.5 seed and will host No. 12 Greenfield Wednesday. No. 7 Mount Greylock, who earned their 10th win to qualify in their second to last regular season game over Taconic, will play No. 10 Putnam Thursday. No. 9 Lee (12-7) will travel to No. 8 Athol Wednesday.
 
In Division 3, the Berkshire County teams have a chance of meeting up in round three; probables could be Lee and Hoosac Valley and Mt. Everett against Mount Greylock. Lee lost twice to the Hurricanes in the regular season and the Mounties played Mt. Everett once, losing 5-1.
