Taconic Softball Earns Win over Monument Mountain
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Taconic softball team Wednesday started its day by celebrating a milestone, and the good feelings rolled right into a 5-4, season-ending win over Monument Mountain.
In a pregame ceremony, the Thunder recognized junior Kylie Duhamel, who earned her 100th career hit in a 5-for-5 day at the plate the last time out at Pope Francis on Monday.
Duhamel doubled and drove in a run in an eight-hit attack in Wednesday’s win.
Gi’Annah Moses and Ella Stodden also doubled.
Stodden split time in the circle with Madison Barber and Abby Bliss, who combined to strike out four and allow three earned runs.
Gianna Beacco went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead Monument Mountain, which also got a double and an RBI from Andrea Paul.
Paul struck out nine in a complete-game effort in the circle.
Monument Mountain finishes the season 8-11. Taconic finishes up 6-14.
