Drury junior Nolan Bird has started to heat up for the Blue Devils as he helped them to a 3-1 record over their last four games.  Bird exploded for a career-high 23 points, including four 3-pointers in a huge home win over arch rival Hoosac Valley.  This was the first time Drury had beaten Hoosac in their past nine meetings dating back to the 2007-08 season.  Bird added seven rebounds and one assist to cap off a sensational game.

Bird also was a big part of Drury's road victory over
Mt. Greylock and home victory over Wahconah when he posted eight points, nine rebounds, three assists and 13 points, eight rebounds, and three assists respectively.

Bird makes a tough matchup for any defender as he can use his 6'3" size in the post but also demands respect outside at the 3-point arc.  Bird is currently leading the Blue Devils in scoring (12.9 points/game), assists (2.5/game), rebounds (7.6/game), and is tied for the team lead with 11 3-pointers. Drury is a team that prides itself on defense and if Bird can continue to be a difference maker on the offensive end, the Blue Devils should be a pesky opponent to any team they face in the playoffs.
