NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Shane Fuller matched his career high with 33 points to lead the McCann Tech boys basketball team to a season-ending, 64-43 win over Smith Vocational on Senior Night in the Hornets Nest.

Fuller scored 18 points of his points in the second quarter as McCann (13-3 Tri-County, 13-7 overall) erased a 12-11 deficit.

Fuller made three 3s in the second, feeding off good ball movement by the Hornets.

"We have worked really hard on cutting down the amount of our dribbling and making the extra pass," McCann coach Mike Nykorchuck said. "We shared the ball much better tonight."

McCann seniors Justin Schneider, Matt Belini, Dylan Darling, Conor Little and Kyle Parada had the privilege of starting the game, playing together as a unit one last time in the fourth quarter and departing to a rousing ovation.

"They all played a great game," Nykorchuck said. "Their contributions may not show up big in the point column, but it was their night, and they provided the enthusiasm and effort the rest of the team fed off."

Schneider had six steals in his usual solid defensive effort to go along with five points, seven rebounds and six assists.

McCann now waits Tuesday's marching orders for the small-school State Vocational tournament. It is one of four schools across the commonwealth vying for that title.

The Hornets also will be going to the Western Mass tourney next week.
