Amherst Boys Edge Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Amherst-Pelham boys basketball team Friday came back from an 11-0 deficit and held off a fourth-quarter comeback effort to earn a 50-49 win over Taconic.
 
Amherst trailed by 11 after one quarter but cut the lead to five at half-time and took a 37-33 lead going into the fourth, when Dedric Moody hit four 3-pointers to help Taconic draw within one.
 
Moody and Isaac Percy each scored 12 to lead Taconic, which got eight from Robert McGowan and seven from Quinitn Gittens.
 
Taconic (0-1) goes to Northampton on Wednesday.
