CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Kevin Huban scored 17 of his game-high 33 points in the fourth quarter Tuesday to lead the Wahconah boys basketball team to a 56-42 win over Hoosac Valley in the season finale for both teams.

Huban went 18-for-28 at the foul line in the game and scored 15 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter as Wahconah outscored Hoosac, 20-7, in the final eight minutes to open up a one-point game.

"The kids competed well for three quarters until we lost our composure a bit with foul trouble in the fourth," interim Hoosac Valley head coach Ben Raimer said. "The lack of discipline and restraint falls on me and I’ll be making sure the same mistakes are not repeated moving forward.

"A tough week of practice after tonight's game will be exactly what’s needed in preparation for Western Mass next week. As we will not receive a home game I’d like to this opportunity to thank the fans, students, and broader community of Adams and Cheshire for the support the team has received at home games this season."

Izaha Stubbs scored 30 points to lead the the Hurricanes, who finish the regular season 10-10.

Tom O'Connor scored 12, and Luke Hescock added six for Wahconah (15-5), which, like Hoosac Valley, will learn Saturday when and against whom it will open play in the Western Mass Division 3 tournament.
