Calvert Leads Wahconah Past Hoosac Valley

DALTON, Mass. – Cooper Calvert Thursday scored 22 points to lead the Wahconah boys basketball team to a 72-41 win over Hoosac Valley.

 

Calvert connected for four 3-pointers, including three in the fourth quarter alone as Wahconah put the game away.

 

It started out strong, outsourcing Hoosac Valley, 16-9, in the first quarter, when Jake Wasuk scored 13 of his 15 points. Calvert scored nine and Jack DuCharme (nine points) hit a pair of 3s in the second quarter to get Wahconah into the locker room with a 39-19 lead.

 

Qwanell Bradley scored 15 points to lead Hoosac Valley, which got seven from Adan Wicks.

 

The Hurricanes (2-1) host Taconic on Monday.

 

Wahconah (4-0) goes to Pittsfield on Monday.
