CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Izaha Stubbs scored 27 points Wednesday to lead the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team to a 48-43 win over Bennington, Vt.’s, Mount Anthony Union.

“Good to get a hard earned win on Senior Night,” Hoosac Valley coach Dave Harte said. “Izaha was in rhythm the whole game and we got contribution from everyone who stepped on the floor.  Josh Paree played strong down the stretch with some key rebounds and four points in the last few minutes.”

Casey Meczywor scored six, and Sam Larabee added five in the win.

Hoosac Valley (6-12) goes to Drury on Saturday before closing at home against Taconic next Wednesday.

“It hasn’t been an easy year but the seniors never stopped playing hard, and that is a tribute to their character,” Harte said.
