Wahconah Ends Regular Season with Win over Monument Mountain

DALTON, Mass. – Jack DuCharme Monday scored 22 points to lead the Wahconah boys basketball team to a 66-40 win over Monument Mountain in the regular season finale for both teams.

 

Cooper Calvert scored 17, and Sam McLaughlin added nine in the win.

 

It was a 42-32 Wahconah lead going to the fourth, when Calvert and DuCharme each made two 3-pointers to help their team pull away.

 

“Great response after dropping the game to them 10 days ago,” Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said. “We played tough defensively, controlled the pace and got contributions from all our guys.

 

“Solid game to finish the regular season, and we will get back to work and get ready for the state tournament.”

 

Sam Barcenas scored 15, and Finn Wheeler added 10 to lead the Spartans.

 

Wahconah (13-6) and Monument Mountain (10-10) learn Friday where they will open play in the Division 4 state tourney.
