Mount Greylock Gets OT Win at Lenox
LENOX, Mass. – Cole Creighton scored 18 points, and the Mount Greylock boys basketball team Friday overcame a slow start to earn a 60-56, overtime win over Lenox.
Logan Fitzgibbons scored 15 for the Mounties, who trailed, 19-4, at the end of the first quarter.
Brady Auger scored eight, including four points in overtime, and Aiden Champagne added eight in the win.
Creighton scored 14 points – six on 3-pointers – in the second half and went 2-for-2 at the foul line in the overtime period.
Lenox got a game-high 25 points from Duke Jaehnig. Nico Leslie and Jason Sibley added 12 and 11, respectively.
“Mount Greylock has improved a great deal over the course of the season and has played every team in our conference extremely tough, losing several games by single-digit margins,” Lenox coach Len Miller said. “They are a well-coached team that does an excellent job of utilizing their players’ strengths.
“Although we were defeated in overtime, I came away feeling very positive about how our kids played. In many ways, this was one of the best overall games we’ve played all season. Offensively, we did a lot of things well, especially after struggling at times to get off to strong starts in the first quarter earlier in the year.”
The Millionaires (3-4) are at Wahconah on Tuesday.
Mount Greylock (4-8) is home on Monday afternoon against Westfield.
