Athlete of the Week: Ashley Alibozek

The McCann Tech girl's basketball team made huge strides last week with three straight victories after starting the season 0-6. Senior captain Ashley Alibozek was a huge difference maker in getting the Hornets out of their six game slide as 
she upped her scoring from 9.3 points per game in the Hornets six losses to 21.3 points per game in their three wins.Alibozek started off her monster three game stretch with 16 points and six rebounds against Putnam last Tuesday. She followed that game up with a career-high 23 point explosion including four 3-pointers in a road victory over Sci-Tech on Thursday. Ashley wasn't done yet and capped off the week with a new career-high of 25 points while also contributing nine boards, two assists, and three 3-pointers in a home win over Southwick. Alibozek was on fire from three as she sank nine during the three-game win streak.
