Castillo, Pittsfield Move on in Division 3

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Harolyn Castillo Monday scored 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the second-seeded Pittsfield girls basketball team to a 48-22 win over Tewksbury in the Division 3 State Tournament Sweet 16.
 
Caprese Conyers scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Generals, who had a 37-11 lead through three quarters.
 
Pittsfield started the game by holding Tewksbury scoreless in the first quarter.
 
Kyana Summers anchored the Generals’ defense with eight steals to go with eight rebounds and seven assists.
 
Pittsfield (18-5) will be home in the state quarter-finals against either No. 7 North Reading or No. 10 Old Rochester, who play on Thursday.
