PITTSFIELD, Mass. — For the second straight game, Pittsfield used the fourth quarter to earn a decisive win over visiting Wahconah 60-49.

Tied after three quarters, Abby Hunt scored eight of her season-high 14 points in the final eight minutes to help the Generals (5-2, 3-0 North County) outscore the Warriors (2-4) 18-7 and gain the victory.

The win, Pittsfield’s fourth consecutive, came on the heels of a 53-44 win over Northampton at the Jill E. Harrington-Hanzalik Basketball Classic, in which the Generals outscored the Blue Devils 19-1 in the fourth quarter.

According to coach Joe Racicot, Pittsfield’s stout defense allowed it to overcome sharp Wahconah shooting in the first half and a five-point halftime deficit.

Hunt pulled down 13 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Jill Ritrosky also finished with a double-double for the Generals, tallying 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Courtney McLaughlin scored a game-high 19 points.

Pittsfield travels to undefeated North County leader Lee (9-0) on Friday at 7:30pm.
