PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Hoosac Valley girls' basketball team lost to Lenox three times last season. On Saturday, the Hurricanes used a 21-point fourth quarter to beat the Millionaires for the second time this month.

Juniors Jenn Gale and Megan Rodowicz each scored 14 points for the Hoosac, which improved its record to 9-3 this year with a victory in the Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase held at Taconic High School. Ron Wojcik's club controlled the first half of play, holding Lenox (7-4) to just five points in the second quarter en route to a 26-17 lead at halftime.

The Millionaires battled back in the third quarter, however, outscoring the Hurricanes by 10 points in the frame to take a one-point lead heading into the fourth. Hoosac then doubled up Lenox in the final quarter to pull away for the win.

Gale was dangerous from downtown on Saturday, knocking down four 3-pointers to go along with six rebounds and three assists. Sophomore forward Emily Rosse added nine points and eight boards, while senior Tori Rumbolt chipped in with nine points and six caroms.

Hayden Zinchuk scored a game-high 17 points for Lenox, while teammate Liz Mitts helped out with 14 on the night.

The 'Canes next host Monument Mountain at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
