Williamstown CPA Finalizes Warrant Articles
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Community Preservation Act Committee finalized on Wednesday the warrant articles that asked voters to appropriate some $400,000 to various projects. The committee had already voted to recommend allotting money to four organizations. The majority of the prospective appropriation is aimed to go to the Affordable Housing Committee. Affordable Housing officials are recommended to receive $107,500 to research properties to build a new affordable housing project as well as an additional $200,000 to form a trust fund for a future acquisition. The $200,000 warrant article will be removed if the town voted down forming the trust fund.
Also receiving recommendations is $25,000 for gravestone restoration at Southlawn Cemetery, an additional $4,000 to replace the chimney on the 1753 House and $80,000 for the Berkshire Housing Development Corp. to build an extension to Proprietors Fields.
The committee approved the articles as written but legal council could make minor adjustments.
