Cutting Edge Fitness Celebrates Five Years
Adams Selectmen and state Rep. John Barrett III recently joined in celebrating the fitness center's five years.
Aimee Sinopoli said it is always a challenge to own your own business but with over five years helping people along their fitness journey she still feels lucky.
"Yeah owning a business is hard and I would say I learned something every day," she said. "But it is just great. it's super easy to come to work every day. That's the dream and not many people can say that."
Cutting Edge Fitness and Martial Arts originally opened on Summer Street in 2014 under the name Hot Spot Fitness. Before this, it was located on Park Street.
What started with indoor cycling classes quickly expanded and Sinopoli now offers different personal and fitness classes as well as yoga.
"We only had about three classes at the time now we offer 23 fitness classes," she said. "With all of these options, today people are now starting to take care of themselves a little better and we offer so much more than we did five years ago and there's really something for everybody."
Sinopoli said this list continues to grow as she tries to bring the community different modes of fitness.
"I just recently became certified as a cancer exercise specialist and a functional aging specialist. It all continues," she said. "I've really brought up my certifications to try to help more of the community. I totally base our schedule on the community’s needs."
Sinopoli's husband, David, has more than 40 years in martial arts and also offers an array of classes including sento mixed martial arts, RMA, boxing, kickboxing, and Brazilian jiu jitsu.
Classes are held seven days a week and she has a following of all ages.
She said she was excited that the weather was finally starting to turn because she now offers a running program for people who want to work their way up to a 5K.
"I have a different philosophy on running I don't just send them out to run," she said. "We work on strengthening and core. Getting them to improve their running and then we'll work on adding on the miles."
Sinopoli continues to look forward and said she really did not know where she would be in another five years.
"I am not sure if we will be in this exact space because we always want to expand," she said.
Cutting Edge Fitness & Martial Arts Center is located at 73 1/2 Summer St. Classes are held beginning at 5 a.m. weekdays and at mid-morning and late afternoon into the evening, and from 6:45-10:30 a.m. on Saturday and 7:30 to 11 a.m. on Sunday.
