North Adams American Legion 'Be Our Guest' Christmas Dinner

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — For the 68th year, Frank R. Stiles American Legion Post 125 will be hosting its annual "Be Our Guest" Christmas dinner. 
 
This is a free dinner for veterans’ and community members takes place on Christmas Day (Dec. 25). The dinner can be enjoyed in the American Legion, located at 91 American Legion Drive, or delivered throughout North Adams, Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Williamstown, or Pownal, Readsboro, and Stamford, Vt. 
 
The meal will consist of ham, potatoes, vegetables, a dinner roll, and a dessert. The post will open its doors for diners from 12:00 – 2:00pm. Delivery and Takeout will be available from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. The post is currently taking preorders via phone (413) 664-9004.

SteepleCats Shut Out in Maine

SANFORD, Maine – Three Sanford pitchers combined on a two-hitter Friday as the Mainers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 2-0, in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
 
Kyle Douin singled to drive in a run in the bottom of the fourth for the game’s first run. The Mainers tacked on a run in the eighth.
 
Joshua Kopetski earned the win on the mound, striking out three and allowing one hit in six innings of work.
 
Jake Foster was the hard-luck loser for North Adams after allowing one run in six innings of work on the hill.
 
Alex Mendes and Nolan DeAndrade each had a hit for the SteepleCats.
 
North Adams (16-17) is back at Joe Wolfe Field on Saturday at 6:30. It will be First Responders Night as the ‘Cats take on the Vermont Mountaineers.
