CRA May Day Race on May 4

DALTON, Mass — The 48th annual Community Recreation Association (CRA) May Day Races will be held Sunday, May 4, at Nessacus Middle School, with major sponsorship by Greylock Federal Credit Union. 
 
Races include 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer, the Obstacles & Popsicles kids' races for ages 8 and under, and a 1-mile Splatter Sprint for ages 8 and up, all with chip timing by Berkshire Running Center, along with an untimed fun walk.
 
The 5K road/trail race, 10K road race, and 2-mile fun walk begin at 9 a.m. The Obstacles & Popsicles races begin at 10 a.m., with the Splatter Sprint immediately following. The first 100 runners to register (combined 5K/10K) will receive a wicking T-shirt. Every participant in the Obstacles & Popsicles kids' races will receive a ribbon and freeze pop at the finish line. All proceeds benefit nonprofit CRA and Dalton Youth Center programs.

Dalton CRA May Day Races Draw Runners of All Ages

DALTON, Mass. – Stefan Ogle was the top male 10-kilometer finisher and Christina Korney the top female 10K finisher at the 2025 Community Recreation Association May Day Races on Sunday at Nessacus Middle School.
 
Ogle’s winning 10K time was 36 minutes, 57 seconds, Matt Marsh was second in 41:04 and Brian Ducey third in 43:25. Korney’s winning time was 43:49, followed by Christine Tower in 46:33 and Kristen Casella in 53:24.
 
In the 5K race, Brady Payson was the men’s winner in 18:47, followed by Connor Carr in 19:51, and Jack Curtiss in 20:50. Lauren Farry was the top woman 5K finisher in 23:50, followed by Samantha Rutz in 23:58 and Mia Thomas in 25:43.
 
Payton Anastasio, age 10, was the top overall finisher in the Splatter Sprint mile race in 9:01, 10-year-old Oliver Polidoro was second in 9:02 and 11-year-old Nicholas Jerebtsov was third in 9:03.
 
In the kids’ Obstacles & Popsicles ½-mile races, 8-year-old Cole Marquis was first in 3:44,  7-year-old Jake Vosburgh finished second in 3:47, while 8-year-old Everett Sondrini was third in 3:55. Delaini O’Keefe was the top girl in 4:13, Cecelia Poulton was second in 4:23 and Mara Shreve was third in 4:31.
 
In the 5-and-under race, Ace Breymann was first in 5:37.3, Luca McDermott was second in 5:37.4 and Nolan Touponce third in 5:39. Elynn Turner was the top girl in 5:42, while Harper Phillips was second in 5:46 and Addison Uy third 5:48.
