CRA'S Annual Crane Paper Sale: Aug. 15 - Aug. 16

DALTON, Mass. — The Community Recreation Association (CRA) will conduct its annual Crane Paper Sale on Friday, Aug. 15, and Saturday, Aug. 16, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the CRA gym at 400 Main Street. 
 
The event will offer deeply discounted cards, envelopes, holiday sets, invitations, announcements and more – donated by Crane Stationery – with all proceeds supporting CRA recreational and wellness programs for all ages.
 
A separate warehouse event will be held at Ashuelot Park (401 South Street in Dalton) for designers, printers, teachers and others interested in bulk paper, envelopes, flat paper stock, and other unique finds. The warehouse sale will be conducted on Friday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
 
Customers are encouraged to bring their own reusable shopping bags to carry their purchases while shopping and through checkout. Cash or credit card payments will be accepted.

Dalton Tops Lanesborough in 12-Year-Old Little League Tourney

DALTON, Mass. – Tony Zaniboni went 2-for-2 with a home run and three runs batted in Thursday to lead the Dalton-Hinsdale Little League 12-year-old All-Stars to a 13-1 win over Lanesborough in the Don Gleason District 1 Tournament.
 
Tye Shove was 2-for-3 with a triple and five RBIs in a seven-hit attack for the tournament hosts, who closed round-robin play with their first win of the tourney.
 
Zaniboni also earned the win on the mound, striking out nine and allowing just one unearned run in three innings of work. Parker Demarsh finished up on the hill for DH.
 
Allen Salguero went 1-for-2 with an RBI for Lanesborough, which also got hits from Noah Higgins and Rowan Higgins.
 
The round-robin ends on Friday night at Chamblerain Park when undefeated Adams-Cheshire meets undefeated Pittsfield in a preview of next Wednesday’s District 1 Championship Game.
