Dalton Rotary Club Golf Tourney

DALTON, Mass. — The Dalton Rotary Club's Joe Haddad Memorial Golf Tournament will be competed Monday, Sept. 15, at Wahconah Country Club. 
 
The annual tournament honors Haddad, a longtime Rotarian with a lifelong commitment to community.
 
The $160 per person entry fee includes green fees, cart rental, lunch, refreshments on the course, dinner, prizes, gifts and a hole-in-one opportunity to win a car.
 
The captain and crew tourney begins at 11:15 a.m. with registration and lunch, followed by a noon shotgun start. All proceeds will benefit the Dalton Rotary Club, which supports the community through a variety of service projects and thousands of dollars in charitable gifts, scholarships, and international outreach

Dalton Tops Lanesborough in 12-Year-Old Little League Tourney

DALTON, Mass. – Tony Zaniboni went 2-for-2 with a home run and three runs batted in Thursday to lead the Dalton-Hinsdale Little League 12-year-old All-Stars to a 13-1 win over Lanesborough in the Don Gleason District 1 Tournament.
 
Tye Shove was 2-for-3 with a triple and five RBIs in a seven-hit attack for the tournament hosts, who closed round-robin play with their first win of the tourney.
 
Zaniboni also earned the win on the mound, striking out nine and allowing just one unearned run in three innings of work. Parker Demarsh finished up on the hill for DH.
 
Allen Salguero went 1-for-2 with an RBI for Lanesborough, which also got hits from Noah Higgins and Rowan Higgins.
 
The round-robin ends on Friday night at Chamblerain Park when undefeated Adams-Cheshire meets undefeated Pittsfield in a preview of next Wednesday’s District 1 Championship Game.
