Horses at the Hilltop Event

RICHMOND, Mass. — Come celebrate a new community partnership and rescued equines from Berkshire HorseWorks at Hilltop Orchards, on Saturday, Oct. 4 from noon-5pm (508 Canaan Road. Richmond, MA 01254). 
 
Hilltop Orchards will donate 5 percent of all sales that day to BHW to be used for scholarships for equine-assisted programs at the ranch, medical care for the horses and donkeys, and hay for the winter.
 
Hilltop Orchards will be creating a special Cider for the day Berkshire Butterscotch, and will raffle off a private guided Trail Ride for Two through BHW's private ranch, a family Donkey Play session, and a Private Tasting with Sara and David (up to 6 guests)  
 
In addition, a special limited edition BHW chocolate by Truffles by Tara will be debuting a Milk Chocolate Caramel Chunk bar, two dollars/bar of which will also go toward Berkshire HorseWorks.

Local Bowlers Compete at High School Nationals

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Monument Mountain's Noah Walker rolled two 200 games during the qualifying round at the U.S. High School Bowling National Championship on Sunday.
 
Walker was one of four Berkshire County bowlers competing in the event. None made the cut to reach Monday's second phase of the competition.
 
Walker started his day strong with a 229 and ended it with a 211 to post a four-game series of 749.
 
The cut line for the 549-bowler field of boys was 796 as 180 bowlers advanced to the tournament's "Survivor" round.
 
The girls high school national featured 293 competitors. The cut line ended up at 728, sending the top 96 bowlers to Monday's round.
 
Lee High's Devyn Fillio was the highest-finishing Berkshire County girl with a four-game total of 670.
 
Her Wildcat teammate Lauren Scheurer finished with a 483.
