NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Actor, entertainer, and author Wayne Soares will present "A Salute to the American Soldier" on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the North Adams American Legion Post 125, located on American Legion Drive.
"I am extremely pleased with how well the production has been received and am equally excited to announce that our show will be featured at The Sahara Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV, this September. To those that have served, this will resonate deeply. For those that have not, it will evoke memories of a friend or relative that has. It's wonderful to see people singing along to the songs. We've worked hard to create a fun and patriotic experience," said Soares.
The 40-minute, family-friendly musical production honors veterans by taking audiences through the World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War eras. Each section features historical picture montages accompanied by period-appropriate American music and patriotic military medleys.
Throughout the performance, Soares reads live, first-hand accounts written by servicemen and women, concluding with a piece focused on deployed service members returning home to their families.
"It's an amazing tribute to the men and women who have served their country. I thoroughly enjoyed it and encourage people to get out and see it. This really gives you an awesome feeling of patriotism," said retired USMC Colonel and Vietnam Veteran Kevin Doyle.
Admission is $20 per person, which includes complimentary appetizers and tastings. Proceeds from the event will benefit Wayne's Veterans Meals & Wheelchair Program (also listed as the Veterans Meal Project). Tickets can be reserved and paid for by emailing waynesoares1@gmail.com.
