Loretta B. Hoye-Logan, 66

ADAMS, Mass. — Loretta Barbara "Lori" Hoye-Logan, 66, of the Spanaway area of Tacoma, Wash., formerly of Adams, passed away suddenly Saturday night, Dec. 21, 2019, from complications of extensive illnesses suffered during the past dozen years.
Born in Taunton on March 5, 1953, daughter of Charles J. Hoye of Hobbs, N.M., and the late Loretta Ducharme Hoye, she married the love of her life, Harry M. Logan Jr., in Adams on Dec. 28, 1974.
She was educated at St. Michael the Archangel School in Levittown, Pa.; the former Notre Dame School in Adams and former St. Joseph High School in North Adams, and at Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee. She also pursued studies at Pierce College (class of 1987) and the University of Washington.
Mrs. Hoye-Logan was the mother of Chalore, Peter and twins Jeffery and Robert Hoye-Logan. As the wife of a career military husband who served 22 years in both the Navy and Army, she lived on several bases in both the United States and Germany before taking up permanent residence in the Lakewood/Tacoma area following Mr. Logan's retirement from the Army at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
She had many occupations during her life, including jewelry making, crafting, and Dunkin' Donuts baker, to name a few.
As a Tacoma area resident, she became a specialist in human resources as a family support specialist for Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare. After several years in that position, she went on to become the company's coordinator of volunteer services. She fully enjoyed helping the clients receive the extra support they needed with a special place in her heart for coordinating Thanksgiving meals and a complete Christmas experience for client families in need of some holiday spirit.
For a number of years in Massachusetts, she was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and was the recipient of the Billy Mitchell Award. She also served in the Girl Scouts of America. Mrs. Hoye-Logan was a major advocate for and supporter of persons with disabilities, working with the Special Olympics that was near and dear to heart. Her son Peter took his first steps during a race with Washington Special Olympics.
Her hobbies included genealogy, reading, playing games, and watching both the University of Washington Huskies and Seattle Seahawks football games.
Besides her husband and children, all of Spanaway, and her father, she leaves her sister, Marceleine Cumberland (James) of Benson, Ariz.; two brothers, Charles T . "Terry" Hoye (Barbara) of Hobbs, and Denis P. Hoye (Bernadette) of Martinez, Calif.; a number of cousins, as well as other extended family members.
