Mary Ann Mohr, 81

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mary Ann Pudlo Mohr, 81, of Englewood, Fla., passed away at home, of natural causes, on December 18, 2019.
Mary Ann was born and raised in North Adams, Mass., and was the daughter of Matthew and Emma (Perra) Pudlo. She was the sister of Robert Pudlo of Ruspon, Wash. Mary Ann was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in North Adams and later graduated with a nursing certificate from the St Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsfield, Mass. Mary Ann completed her nurses training in Tarrytown, N.Y.
Mary Ann then had a lifelong career as a caregiver, licensed practical nurse and registered nurse. She was a valued and well loved employee of The Mountain View Rest Home in North Adams and also performed home health services and was a nurse for many years at the North Adams Regional Hospital and eventually the Englewood and Venice Hospitals in Florida. Once retired, she continued to provide care in private duty and also cared for a couple of clients with Alzheimer's disease. Mary Ann also delivered Meals on Wheels to many people in Englewood, Fla.
Mary Ann married Richard L Plante in 1961 and they were married for 16 years. During that time they traveled to Montana, Florida, Germany and then Hawaii as Richard was in the Air Force. They had three children.
Mary Ann is survived by her three children, Richard C Plante (and wife Betsy), Mary Jo Plante McConville (and husband Tom) and Sherri Plante Belouin; nine grandchildren, Nicole Hunt, Allison Saad, Christopher Plante, Zachary Plante, Samuel McConville, Jordyn McConville, Matthew Belouin, Jacob Belouin and Nicholas Belouin; and five great-grandchildren, Elina, Logan and Lincoln Hunt, April McConville and Vivienne Saad. Mary Ann also leaves behind her beloved dog, Deuce, who gave so much meaning to her life. He has been adopted by her good friend who lived near her in Englewood.
Mary Ann kept a lovely home and yard in her neighborhood in Englewood, Fla., doing most of the upkeep on her own and often motivating her neighbors to do the same. Mary Ann was a wonderful mother and friend and nurse, full of humor and compassion and spunk. Mary Ann was very generous in spirit as well in her care she provided to others. She will be fondly remembered and missed by her family and relatives and friends.
Funeral notice: A private burial will take place Wednesday, July 15, 2020, her birthday, at Southview Cemetery.
