Joanna worked in the Naval Ordnance division of General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for many years until her retirement. She was an active communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, where she was a weekly participant of the St. Stanislaus Vigil while the church was temporarily closed, and a frequent attendant of the former Adoration Chapel. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality and the General Electric Quarter Century and Pensioner’s Clubs. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Edward S. Biros, whom she married on May 15, 1954; her faithful son Jim Biros and his wife Susan, of Adams; her beloved granddaughters, Lisa Collins and Sarah Biros, both of Adams; her adored great-grandsons, Wills and Danny, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by an infant brother, John Filip.

The family would like to thank Home Instead and HospiceCare in the Berkshires for their assistance in providing in-home care for Joan. Special recognition goes out to Julie M., Bekki, Cierra, Bonnie, and Julie W. for the tender, loving care they gave to Joan and her family for nearly three years.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 16th at 12:00 Noon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. A calling hour will be held in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, on Monday morning from 10:30 until 11:30, directly before the Mass.

Ed, Jim, Sue, Sarah, and Lisa, my deepest condolences. Joannie volunteered in our department, but she was more of a mentor than a volunteer. She shared her vast knowledge that she gained during her many years working, she shared her positive attitude even when faced with a difficult problem, she shared her wonderful sense of humor when days seemed dark. She also shared her Polish recipes, made me the traditional Easter butter lamb, and brought in vegetables that she and Ed had grown. She was much more than a volunteer, she was my friend. She loved her family and was beaming when announcing a wedding or new grandchild. Rest in peace Joannie, you will be missed by many.
