Fred E. King, 57
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Fred Edward King, 57, of 117 Furnace St. died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2003, in the North Adams Regional Hospital emergency room.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 8, 1945, son of Frederick E. and Ruth Sweeney King, he attended schools in North Adams, including Drury High School.
Mr. King was a firefighter with the North Adams Fire Department from 1967 until his retirement in 1990.
He enjoyed fishing and woodworking, was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and collected baseball cards.
His wife, the former Patricia Belanger, died Nov. 17, 2001.
He leaves two daughters, Theresa L. Cooper of North Adams and Brooke A. King of Lanesborough; a son, Raymond E. King of Adams; two brothers, Joseph King of Williamstown and Ronald King of Adams; three sisters, Beverly Cloutier, Ruth Adams and Evelyn Ritcher, all of North Adams; a granddaughter, Karissa A. Weeden of North Adams, and nieces and nephews.
A sister, Shirley Gardner, is deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. King will be Thursday, Nov. 6, at 1 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. Burial at a later date.
