Louis Perrier

Louis Perrier, 92, of 2 Horn Place died yesterday morning at the Commons of Williamstown, where he had resided for two years. Born in Champlain, N.Y., on Aug. 16, 1912, son of Isaac and Bridget Monette Perrier, the family moved to Easthampton, where he attended schools, and then moved to Adams, where he attended the former Notre Dame School. Mr. Perrier was employed by the Pfizer Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1977 as a supervisor in the corps chalk division. Earlier, he had worked for the former George Bowe Ice and Fuel Co., Berkshire Fine Spinning Co., and the Adams Print Works. He was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame/St. Thomas and St. Stanislaus, and attended St. Thomas' Church. He was a member of the Adams Turners and the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s, serving in posts at Plymouth and Chester. He enjoyed fishing in local streams and hiking Mount Greylock. An avid bowler, he was awarded several prizes and citations. His wife, the former Marion Griswold, whom he married July 16, 1938, in Notre Dame Church, died in 1999. He leaves five daughters, Mary Lou Rodovick, Phyllis LaRoque, Carrie Brown and Barbara Solomon, all of Adams, and Linda Gwodz of Cheshire, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Two sons, Arthur Perrier and James Perrier, and another daughter, Shirley Ann Comeau, are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Louis Perrier will be offered on Monday at 10 in Notre Dame Church. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 at the MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Liberty St. The family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Fund and/or the Adams Ambulance Company.
