Edward Theodore Jamros

Edward Theodore Jamros, 93, of 13 Haggerty St. died Monday evening. Born in Adams on Jan. 12, 1912, son of the late Michael and Catherine Lukaszewski Jamros, he attended Adams schools. Mr. Jamros worked for several years in the 1930s with the Civilian Conservation Corps. He later worked at the former Dewey & Almy Corp. and its successor, WR Grace Co., for over 25 years, until retiring in 1977. He also had operated his own electronics and television repair business for many years. He was an active communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, where he served as a eucharistic minister, lector, acolyte and member of its choir. He was a member and past secretary of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Society, the WR Grace Quarter Century Club, and was a director of the former Adams Bakery Association. During World War II, he served with the former Massachusetts State Guard for several years. He also served for many years on the Town of Adams Finance Committee. He enjoyed walking, gardening, cooking, and sketching. His wife, Isabel F. Holowenko Jamros, whom he married on Sept. 1, 1937, died on Jan. 13, 1989. He is survived by a son, the Rev. Daniel P. Jamros, SJ, of Buffalo, N.Y.; two daughters, Sylvia M. Jamros of Athol and Anita L. Jamros of Adams, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Another son, Paul Jamros, died Sept. 26, 1989. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Edward Theodore Jamros, 93, who died Dec. 19, 2005, will be held on Friday at 9 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS Funeral Home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus Church, celebrated by his son, the Rev. Daniel P. Jamros, SJ. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Church or School through the funeral home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams 01220.
