After operating the Store at Five Corners in Williamstown, he worked as a computer network administrator and technician for PC Helper of Hinsdale and for Systems Engineering Associates of Pittsfield, for which he participated in a local radio call-in talk show about computer troubleshooting. He also was a self-employed/contract technician for many area businesses, including Aaronson and Lucido P.C. of Pittsfield, HospiceCare in the Berkshires, GE Plastics and General Dynamics. In September 2005, he was named IT director at HospiceCare in the Berkshires, where he was employed until his illness. A self-taught guitarist, he played lead and rhythm guitar with several Pittsfield-based rock ‘n' roll bands that performed at area venues during the 1970s and 1980s. In recent years, he was a member of an informal group of remote-control glider ("sloper") enthusiasts and friends. In earlier years, he enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting and dirt bike/motorcycle racing. Besides his mother, of Cheshire, he leaves two daughters, Ashley Livsey and Katherine Livsey, both of Williamstown; a brother, Thomas A. Livsey of Adams; three sisters, Cheryl Golka and Nancy Cardimino, both of North Adams, and Sandra Livsey of Dalton; and his partner, Claire K. "Kim" Van Dyke, with whom he resided.
