Helen Koza

Helen Koza, 92, of 7 Daniels Court died Wednesday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in New Britain, Conn., on Dec. 29, 1914, daughter of Thomas and Frances Hejnar Wysocki, she moved to Adams at the age of 4 and attended local schools. Mrs. Koza was a homemaker. She was employed as an office clerk at the former Waverly Fabrics for several years, retiring in 1975. Earlier, she worked at the former Braman's Store. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality and Senior Choir. She was also a member of the Polish Women's Alliance, St. Michael's Society and the Senior Citizens. She was past president of the Polish Women's Club and a charter member of the St. Stanislaus Parent-Teacher Group. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, making hats, tailoring, knitting, crocheting and reading. She also spoke fluent Polish. Her husband, Ignatius J. Koza, died July 19, 1970. She leaves two sons, I. John Koza of Webster, N.Y., and Dr. Bernard F. Koza of Lisbon Falls, Maine; two daughters, Judith Belanger of Adams and Edith Hamilton of Dallas; a brother, Frank Wysocki of North Adams; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren, Another son, Raymond L. Koza, died July 7, 2004. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Helen Koza, who died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, will be Monday at 9 from PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Stanislaus' Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus' Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 at the funeral home. Members of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality will meet at the funeral home on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. to pay their respects and recite the rosary. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus' School or the American Cancer Society through the funeral home. She was a loving Babci to Ryan, Russell and Mitchell Belanger, and was proud to be the mother and grandmother of twins. She will be sadly missed by her entire family. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a brother, William Wysocki, and by two sisters, Mary Boudreau and Lottie Wotkowicz.
