WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Mount Greylock boys soccer team wasted no time establishing that it has plenty of scoring punch despite the graduation of a 31-goal scorer.

Sam Dils scored the first of his two goals in the fifth minute of Tuesday's 5-1 season-opening win over Lenox under the lights on John T. Allen Field.

Dils converted an assist from Grant Raphael on an indirect free kick to give the Mounties the early lead, and they never looked back.

Three minutes later, Dan Flynn scored on a cross from the right side to make it 2-0.

After Lenox cut the lead in half just before the end of the first half, the Mounties scored three times after the break to remove all doubt.

First, Benni McCommish set up Felix Kershaw on a corner kick. Then Raphael converted a penalty kick. Finally, Dils finished the scoring, again with an assist from Raphael.

Cal Filson made five saves for Mount Greylock (1-0), which hosts Chicopee on Friday in the Mount Greylock Invitational.
