Pittsfield Boys Earn Shutout Win at Monument Mountain

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Avi Snowise Thursday made four saves to backstop the Pittsfield boys soccer team to a 4-0 win over Monument Mountain.


Luke Peplowski got the Pittsfield offense goign early with an unassisted goal in the fifth minute.


The Generals then exploded for three goals in the second half to break the game open against Spartans’ keeper Rhys Curtis (five saves).


Carter Matthews set up Sam Higuera for a goal early in the second half. Midway through, Gabe Rich made it 3-0. And David Kankam capped the scoring with an assist from Ben Brooks.


Pittsfield (5-1) takes a three-game winning streak into Saturday morning’s home game against East Longmeadow at Kirvin Park.


Monument Mountain (5-2) is home on Monday against Pope Francis.
