Lenox Golfers Edge Taconic

LENOX, Mass. – Oliver Kirby birdied the final hole to break a four-way tie with his teammates and lead the Lenox golf team to a 159-169 win over Taconic on Thursday.
 
Kirby’s four on the finishing hole gave him a 39, edging out Katie Shove, Noah Pinsoneault and Mia Freeman, who each carded a round of 40.
 
Pinsonneault birdied the par-4 third hole, and Freeman birdied the par-4 fourth.
 
Taconic’s Charley Driscoll earned medalist honors, bookending his rounds with birdies on the par-4 first hole and No. 9 to finish at 38.
 
Brodie McCormack, Ethan Bishop and Gavin Maffuccio rounded out the scoring for the Thunder. Maffuccio birdied the par-3 fifth hole.
 
Taconic (0-2) hosts Hoosac Valley on Tuesday.
 
Lenox (2-0) travels to Wyantenuck to play Mount Everett and Monument Mountain on Wednesday.
