Pelkey Gives Mounties Walkoff Win in Tournament

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Audrianna Pelkey singled with two out in the bottom of the seventh drive in the winning run as the Mount Greylock softball team Saturday beat Minuteman, 3-2, in the preliminary round of the Division 4 State Tournament.

 

The winning rally started when Kyleigh Cooper reached on a one-out error. She went to third on a single by Kaleigh Jaros and scored one batter later.

 

Pelkey also hit a solo home run in the win.

 

Jaros went 3-for-4 with a double, and Lydia Gaudreau was 2-for-3 at the plate.

 

In the circle, Jaros struck out nine and allowed no earned runs in a complete-game win.

 

Twenty-ninth-seeded Mount Greylock (7-11) is right back at it on Sunday morning when it travels to face No. 4 Frontier in the Round of 32.
