Cooper Game-Winner Lifts Lee

LEE, Mass. – Jacob Cooper scored 16 points and hit the game-winning 3-pointer with four seconds left to give the Lee boys basketball team a 69-67 win over Libertas Charter on Friday night.

 

Joey Abderhalden and Mason Lucy each matched Cooper with 16 points in a back-and-forth game that saw the Wildcats bounce back from Tuesday’s loss and get their fifth win in six outings.

 

“This was a fantastic high school basketball game,” Lee coach Dan Korte said. “Everyone who came out to this one got their money's worth. We have great respect for Libertas.They are a solid, well coached team who fought hard tonight.

 

“I'm just really happy for our kids that the ball bounced our way and Jake was able to hit a huge shot. We have been working hard all year, and it feels really good to have it pay off with an exciting win like this.”

 

Lee (6-5) is at Drury on Tuesday.
