Pittsfield Boys Hold on Against Hoosac

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Chad Shade scored 17 points and the Pittsfield High boys basketball team held off a furious fourth-quarter comeback to defeat Hoosac Valley, 70-68, on Thursday night.
 
The Hurricanes (11-5) outscored Pittsfield 12-8 in the fourth quarter with Jameson Coughlin scoring six and Matt Braman scoring four of his game-high 21.
 
But Shade hit a 3, and Amancho Adopo scored two of his 16 down the stretch for the Generals (15-1), who won their fourth in a row and got their second one-score win in less than a week.
 
Scott Steinman scored 13, and Bryce Daley added eight for Pittsfield.
 
Trevor Alibozek matched Braman for game-high honors with 21, and Sean Ryan-Kut had eight for Hoosac.
 
Pittsfield travels to face Drury, and the Hurricanes host Lenox on Monday.
