Singer, songwriter, and music producer Chris Ruhe will present a concert of his unique "Chartreuse Blues" music, interwoven with an introduction to the Bahá'í Faith. His program, which is free and open to the public, will be held Wednesday, July 30th, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM, at the Harper Center, 118 Church Street, Williamstown. He describes "Chartreuse Blues" as a mix of blues and tropical jazz, spiced with the music of Latin America. Chris, who lives in Beacon, New York, has performed with such notable and diverse musicians as Dizzy Gillespie, Pete Seeger, Richie Havens, and Creedence Clearwater Revival. His song, "Anthem of the World Citizen," was number one in the world MP3 ranking, folk-rock category, in October 2002. Chris has recorded two CD's, "Chartreuse Blues" and "Still Rockin' (Down that Highway Paved with Song)," and a third one is in the process of being produced. More details on his music can be found at his web site: www.chrisruhe.com/content.html . During the past six years, Chris has toured 46 states in the United States, as well as Canada, England, Romania, Bulgaria, and Poland. He is currently visiting 19 cities in 19 days before starting a three-week tour in the Rocky Mountain West. This free program is sponsored by the Bahá'í community of Williamstown.
