North Adams American Legion's Be Our Guest Dinner Returns
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Be Our Guest holiday dinner returns this Christmas Day and veterans and members of the community are welcome.
"With COVID we couldn't hold this last year," Post 125 Commander Mitchell Keil said. "We are excited to be able to bring it back. This is my first year in charge, so I am excited for that. This is an event we have always really enjoyed."
This is the 66th year Frank R. Stiles American Legion Post 125 will be hosting its annual free Christmas dinner. The meal will consist of turkey soup, ham, potatoes, vegetables, a dinner roll, and a dessert.
"We are veterans, and it is important for us to look out for each other as well as others in the community," Keil said. "We have done this for a long time, and we don't want anybody to go without on Christmas."
Keil said that after the support the legion received after the recent Save the Legion ziti dinner they knew they had to bring the dinner back.
"There was no way we couldn't bring this back after the huge outpouring of support from the ziti dinner," he said. "We know how important it is to give back and support our community."
The dinner can be eaten at the legion, located at 91 American Legion Dr. between noon and 2 p.m.
Meals can also be delivered throughout North Adams, Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Williamstown. Volunteers will also deliver to Pownal, Readsboro, and Stamford in Vermont.
Delivery and takeout is available between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The post is currently taking orders via phone 413-664-9004.
Volunteers may also call to sign up to help.
"We have a small dedicated crew, but we always welcome more," Keil said.
