Pittsfield Police Investigating Elizabeth Street Shooting Incident

PITTSFIELD, Mass.  Police are investigating a shooting incident near the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Boylston Street that left a man injured.
 
On Wednesday, March 30 at approximately 9:51 p.m. members of the Pittsfield Police Department (PPD) responded to an area near the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Boylston Street for a ShotSpotter activation. 
 
Responding officers located at least one shell casing at the scene.
 
Investigating officers learned that a man was shot and was driving himself to Berkshire Medical Center (BMC). 
 
Officers responded to BMC and spoke with the gunshot victim who sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. 
 
Investigators learned that an unknown assailant fired a round from their vehicle into the victim's vehicle, which resulted in the injury to the victim.

Pittsfield Seeking Volunteers for Flag Distribution

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The city of Pittsfield's Department of Veterans' Services is looking for volunteers to assist with placing flags and markers at Veterans' gravesites. 
 
The installation of flags will occur between May 6 to May 11, 2024.
 
Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable, appropriate apparel and shoes, walking will be required throughout the cemeteries to place these flags. Instructions, flags, and markers will be provided, as well as soft refreshments and snacks.
