WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass — Finding its way to home plate doesn't seem to be an issue for the Mount Greylock softball team this year. The Mounties earned their fourth straight win on Monday with another strong performance on the offensive end, plating 15 runs in the first three innings on their way to a 16-3 home win over Mount Anthony.

Greylock (4-0) jumped on Patriots' starter Lacy Parmenter with five runs in the bottom of the first, capitalizing on three walks and pair of extra-base hits by senior Caitie Benoit and sophomore Kendal Frye. Benoit (three runs scored, three walks) blasted a two-run triple, while Frye (2 for 3, four RBI) connected on a two-run single.

The Mounties scored seven runs on four hits and two walks in the second inning, running their lead up to 12-0. Mount Anthony finally got on the board with a single run in the top of the third, but the hosts kept the pressure on by scoring four more runs over the next two frames. Sophomore Meredith Dezieck led the Greylock attack by going 2 for 3 with four RBI and three runs scored.

"I'm happy with our offensive output in these first four games," Mounties head coach June Blake said. "We are doing a good job of putting the ball in play and making things happen on the bases. Heather [Tomkowicz], again, put in another solid performance on the mound."

Greylock's offensive output assured Tomkowicz, the Mounties' sophomore starter, would only have to pitch five inning to pick up her fourth win of the year. She allowed three earned runs on seven hits, striking out seven and walking just one.

Greylock next host Taconic at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
