PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The City of Pittsfield's Department of Community Development Recreation Program, in partnership with the Berkshire Bike Path Council and Safe Routes to School, announces a Community Bike Ride on Saturday, May 23, at the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail.
The bike ride will depart from the Crane Ave trailhead (886 Crane Ave., Pittsfield) beginning at 10 a.m. Riders are invited to arrive at 9:30 a.m. to decorate their bikes and complete a bike safety check before the ride. Once the ride starts, participants can opt for a shorter loop to the Berkshire Mall trailhead and back or continue further along the trail.
This is a free event open to ages 5 and up. Attendees are asked to bring their own bicycles and helmets are required for all riders. All riders are welcome to join, and families are strongly encouraged to ride together.
Refreshments will also be available for participating riders.
A rain date is in place for Sunday, May 24.
