RAZZIE nominations spotlight the worst of Hollywood

The envelope, please? It's award season in Hollywood, and the race is on for the least-coveted dishonor in Tinsel Town. Who will win this year's Worst Picture competition? The nominations for the 22nd annual RAZZIE awards are in, with Sly Stallone's "Driven," Tom Green's "Freddy Got Fingered," and Mariah Carey's "Glitter" all vying for the Worst Picture award. Also in the running are "Pearl Harbor" with Ben Affleck and "3,000 Miles to Graceland," with Kevin Costner, a RAZZIE repeat offender. According to a press release from the The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation, this year’s race for the Spray-Painted RAZZIE Gold was wide open. “Winners” of The 22nd Annual RAZZIE Awards will be announced in ceremonies set for 11:30am, Saturday, March 23 at The Abracadabra Theatre at 1418 Fourth Street in Santa Monica. In addition to their Worst Picture nominations, "Driven" and "Freddy" also got multiple nods for their two knuckle-headed “stars,” both of whom have a record-tying four nominations apiece: Green was fingered for Worst Actor, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay (with Derek Harvie) and for Worst Screen Couple as “Tom Green and Any Animal He Abuses.” Stallone, the all-time RAZZIE Champion who won a Worst Actor of The Century trophy in 2000, finds himself nominated in 2001 for Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Screenplay, Worst Screen “Couple” (with co-star and co-nominee Burt Reynolds) and for Worst Picture as one of the producers of "Driven." This brings The Less-Than-Sly-Guy’s career RAZZIE total to 29 nominations in 22 years. He has “won” 9 times. Others vying for Tinsel Town’s Top Turkey Trophy include: Ben Affleck ("Pearl Harbor") three-time “winner” Costner ("Graceland") Keanu Reeves ("Hardball" and "Sweet November") and last year’s “winner” John Travolta ("Domestic Disturbance" and "Swordfish") alongside Green in Worst Actor. Penelope Cruz ("Blow", "Captain Corelli’s Mandolin" and "Vanilla Sky") Angelina Jolie ("Lara Croft," "Tomb Raider" and "Original Sin") Jennifer Lopez ("Angel Eyes" and "The Wedding Planner") and Charlize Theron ("Sweet November") are contending with Carey for Worst Actress -- But with votes on 93.3 percent of all Nominating Ballots, Mariah Carey appears to have the edge. Nominees were determined by sending ballots to more than 500 Golden Raspberry Award Foundation members throughout 39 U.S. states and 10 foreign countries. The Foundation recently entered into a development deal with Nash Entertainment to produce a televised award show for next year's 23rd Annual RAZZIES and they are currently seeking a broadcast partner. Created in 1980 by John Wilson, author of EVERYTHING I KNOW I LEARNED AT THE MOVIES, The RAZZIES are a parody of Award Shows in general and the Academy Awards in particular. The award itself, designed by Wilson, is a plastic, golf-ball sized raspberry atop a mangled Super-8 film reel, mounted on a base made from the lid of a Lipton Raspberry Iced Tea jar and spray-painted gold -- It has a current estimated Street Value of about $4.29. North Adams Clothing Store Moving to Larger Space

Staff Reports
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Label Shopper is moving across the parking lot to the former Peebles location in April.

The discount clothing store has been located in the downtown's L-shaped mall downtown since 2009. It replaced Fashion Bug, which had been in that spot for 24 years before closing in 2007; the company liquidated in 2013.

Label Shopper is part of Peter Harris Clothes, established in 1970 by Peter Elitzer. Starting as a single store in Latham, N.Y., offering brand-name apparel at discount prices, the company operates more than 70 stores throughout the Northeast and Midwest.

The store is set to close on April 6 for the move and reopen on April 9 in the former Gordmans, according to signage.

Gordmans briefly replaced Peebles in the former Kmart until the parent company of the two brands declared bankruptcy and closed its stores in 2020.

At 17,250 square feet, the Gordman's space is at least double the size of Label Shopper's current location.
